In case the wind doesn’t show up on the first weekend, we will try again this one.
The girls will be meeting up again for Christmas at Woodman’s Point, Beach one will be the rendezvous but those who can stay upwind confidently may test out the offshore side at some point during the day.
Welcome to KiteJam!
This competiton is all about bringing keen and talented riders together for a great day, to ride hard, have fun, and put on a show for WA to see what kiteboarding is all about.
The event is organised to be a freeride session, this means that the riders are free to ride as much as they want, but also encouraged to take breaks in the competitors lounge for a ringside view of the action. At the end of the event all competitors will be given the chance to vote for their favourite riders, the votes will be counted over a few beers, and the winner decided.
We would love to see spectators make the journey to the event. It is a great venue for a freestyle competiton, easy road-side access, parking, shade and sheltered areas are also available. This is going to be some of the best kiteboarding action that Australia has to offer, featuring some of the countries top riders, and visiting international talents.
Following on from the success of the past two Kitestock events Kitestock 09 will again be held at Dongara/Port Denison. In 3 short years Kitestock seems to have been accepted as the essence of what kitesurfers want from an event. Based around a theme which places all levels of kiters squarely at the heart of the organisation Kitestock is run simply around the theme of ensuring that kiters are free to kite as much as possible. And if kiting isnt filling your day then it is chilled out, kick back socialising with fully catered partying all night.
This year WAKSA is putting out a call to all those who have been thinking about, and want to, run their own WA Kiting event. We have held plenty over the years and have the knowledge of how to put it all together so our role would be to guide you all the way. We just need the idea and the will power of someone, or a group of someones, to put the event together and build their own WA kite event. If your interested or have any questions please email us
